Photo Guidelines — Dos:
- Use a recent passport-style colour photograph taken against a white or light-coloured background
- Look straight into the camera with a relaxed, neutral expression
- On sunny days, keep the sun behind you or sit in shade to avoid squinting or harsh shadows
- If using flash, ensure there is no red-eye in the image
- If you wear glasses, ensure your eyes are clearly visible with no reflections
- Religious headwear is permitted, but your face must remain fully visible
- It is advisable to retain at least 8 copies of the same photograph uploaded in the application — these will be needed at subsequent stages of the selection process
Photo Guidelines — Don'ts:
- Do not wear caps, hats, or dark/coloured sunglasses
- Do not cover your face with a mask or any other object
- Do not upload a blurred, distorted, or shadowed photo
- Do not take the photo in a dark room or against a cluttered background
- Do not upload a very small or low-resolution image
Live Photo Capture (Mandatory):
In addition to the scanned photograph, candidates must also capture a live photograph using a webcam or mobile phone:
- Webcam option: Click "Capture Photo" — your webcam activates and the image auto-uploads
- Mobile option: Click "Click here to Scan" — scan the QR code, click your photo on mobile, and it auto-uploads

Take or scan a clear photo
Use a plain white or light-coloured background. Ensure the face is clearly visible with no shadows, glasses, or blurred edges. Natural lighting works best.
Upload the original — not a cropped screenshot
Upload the highest-quality original you have. Screenshots and re-compressed images lose quality and may fail the portal's size check.

Outdated or Non-Recent Photo
Many exam authorities require a photo taken within 3–6 months. Using an old photo may lead to rejection at document verification.

Selfies, tilted shots, and black & white photos are all rejected. Every exam explicitly requires a colour passport-style photo looking straight at the camera.
